9/19/12 Hello renters! Here's another update, just to clear up some questions we've been asked.
1) Our website does *not* charge your card for anything. When you complete your order, the website securely delivers your card info to us at the store, where we charge your card upon processing your order. NO charges are made to your card until we process your order.
2) We do our best to keep our online offerings consistent with actual availability, but every now and then we do over-sell a particular level of instrument. If that happens, we do reserve the right to substitute the ordered level with one that we have in stock. We will notify you by email if this happens.
3) Please stay on the path! All rental orders *must* go through our rental module, which you access by using the "ONLINE RENTALS-NOW AVAILABLE By Instrument" button on the left hand side of the web page. This will take you through the rental process, which includes completing an online lease agreement. Read the handy directions below and you'll do fine. If you try to find a rental instrument by going anywhere else on the site, we will have a problem and will most likely have to ask you to redo your order. So save yourself and us some frustration and stay in the rental module. Thanks!
9/1/12 Heidi-Ho, folks! As of Sept 1, we've made some changes to the online availability of some levels of certain instruments. We've been renting hot and heavy for 3 weeks now, and some levels are quite low or just aren't around anymore. Place your order early for best selection. Once our stock of a certain level gets low enough, we pull it offline to make sure we don't over-commit.
We thank you for your interest in Kincaid's Rent-To-Own program! As we are in the busiest part of rental season, please be advised of a couple important items:
With things being rather busy, processing orders takes time. It is currently taking at least 48 hours and often more to begin processing your order, and, based on weekly delivery schedules, can take up to a week or longer to have your order delivered. Also be aware that no orders are processed between 2:00 PM Sat and 12:00 Noon Monday. If you place your order in between these times, it may take a little longer to process your order. Also please note, for rentals, we only serve the Miami Valley of Ohio. We cannot rent instruments beyond our service area.

Step 1: Select Your Instrument
On the left navigation menu, click on By Instrument, underneath "Online Rentals". You MUST click on By Instrument first or you will NOT be able to successfully complete your online rental. A list of instruments will appear. Scroll over the instrument you wish to rent, or simply click on the instrument name.
Step 2: Select your plan and instrument level.
Click on the instrument level and plan that you desire. For example, "Clarinet-New-Starter Pack Offer", or "Trumpet-Used-2 Month Intro Offer". Simply select the combination of instrument and plan that you wish to rent.
For all the details on these plans, scroll to the bottom of this page, under "Rates and Packages".
Step 3: Choose Instrument and Accessories.
The instrument and plan you've chosen will appear, with a description detailing the plan's price and the regular monthly rate for your instrument. Below the instrument, you will find a group of recommended accessories for your student, based on the instrument you have chosen. Even if you have selected the Starter Pack, don't forget these accessories! Even if you don't buy them now, you may want them later on, so take note.
For Saxophones and Clarinets, extra reeds are highly recommended.
For brass instruments(trumpet, trombone, etc.), oils and lubricants are recommended.
Music Stands are recommended for home practice. A music stand promotes good posture and instrument carriage, and helps your child avoid bad habits.
Add your chosen instrument and all desired accessories to the shopping cart. They will appear on the right hand side of the page.
Step 4: Checkout.
When you have finished adding your instrument and accessories to your shopping cart, click on the Checkout button on the right side of the screen, under your shopping cart. DO NOT CLICK THE "CHECKOUT" WORDS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE!
If this is your first time shopping online with us, you will be prompted to fill on some basic information (name, address, email, etc.). If you already have an account, enter your email and password at the prompt.
Next, select your shipping option. You can have your instrument delivered/shipped to your home, business, or school, pick it up at the store, or pick it up at one of our associate stores. For shipping to your home or business, a shipping charge will be applied to your total. There is no charge for delivery to schools in our service area. Please allow 48 hours for processing. Step 5: Complete the Rental Agreement
and Confirm
In order to rent your instrument online, you will need to complete the rental agreement.To do so, click on the Please Complete link that appears next to your rental instrument. Everything in RED must be filled in to complete the agreement. When you have finished the agreement, click on the "Submit" button which will take you back to your Checkout.
In order to rent an instrument online, you must provide a credit card to be auto-debited for your regular monthly rental
payment. Unless you tell us otherwise, the credit card you provide for this order will be used for the monthly auto-debit. If you want us to use a different card for the monthly auto-debit, please indicate that in the Additional Information box.
Once entered, your order is not complete until you click on the "Confirm Order" button. You will receive a confirmation email to the address you have listed.

Kincaid's offers 2 easy ways to get your beginning musician started. Our Starter Pack gives your beginner their basic materials and your first month's rental included; all for one low price, $37 plus tax, for all instruments.
Kincaid's 2 Month Introductory Offer gives you the option of a low price for the first two months, without the materials included in the Starter Pack, total price ranging from $25.68 to $70.09 depending on the instrument.
New instruments are just that. Instruments that haven't been rented.
Nearly New instruments have been rented for a very short period of time, generally 2 month or less, and returned (new cosmetic appearance).
Premium Value instruments have been rented for a short period of time, generally 6-18 months, and returned (great cosmetic appearance).
Used instruments have been rented for an extended amount of time, generally 2 years or more, and have been returned (good cosmetic appearance).
All Kincaid's instruments are in great playing condition. Each instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and adjusted by our technicians prior to availability. |
